Lately, things have been changing in my household.  Because our phone seems to be mainly used by telemarketers and political parties soliciting votes, we have opted to discontinue the landline.  Our reasoning is that everyone in the house has cell phones anyway so why bother paying for a phone that rings 3 – 4 times a night with telemarketing calls? We refuse to pay for a call display option because as far as some are concerned its just another money grab. We are always so busy that sometimes one if not both of us are out of the house or if we are home we are in the back yard or in the garage etc.  So the email has been sent out that the landline is no more.  We might regret it in the future – but for now it seems like the most  sensible thing to do.
