This year is going to see some landmarks passing by in my road of life.
Firstly – come the 1/2 way mark of the year will also mark the turning of a page. I love my motorcycle. She was christened The Lady and she’s been a fantastic bike for me taking me all over the Canadian West Coast and all the way to Manitoba and back. No small feat for a 650cc bike. But this year I’ll be upgrading her to a Victory High Ball come the end of May when finances allow.

Secondly – Come the 1/2 way mark in the year, I will be embarking on a trip with a group of motorcyclists to Russell, Manitoba for a weekend. After the weekend, most of the riders will be heading south to Sturgis instead of coming back with me. This means I’ll be riding back by myself. This landmark is one of my own making. After some cursory planning, I will be embarking on a Saddle Sore (1640km in 24hours) on the way back.

Thirdly – Some people don’t know this but I like to dabble in writing when I’m not working extensive and exhausting hours. I have been working on the rough draft of a book for the past 3 months. My goal is that by January 1, 2013 it will be finished and ready to be submitted for publication. At this point, the outline and rough draft of Dear John is done and I am at the point of gathering all the chapters together in order to assemble it for submission. Wish me luck.

So there you have it. My year of 2012 all maped out. I realize that some people do their New Year’s Resolutions at the beginning of the year – call me a late starter. Either way the goals have been set. Lets see how I do reaching all my Landmarks this year. 😉
