The Port Alberni Toy Run has successfully been raising money for the kids of the Alberni Valley for over 40 years. Whether it be through donations as a result of our volunteer activities, or through the biggest yearly fundraiser we host – The Port Alberni Toy Run weekend which is historically held on the 3rd weekend in September every year. In our history we have given away over 1 million dollars to groups/activities in the valley like Girl Guides, Navy League, ADSS Breakfast Club. We have also sponsored free family events like First Night and Winter Wonderland that take place every year because all kids need some joy in their lives regardless of the financial status of their families.
This year, we are holding a unique raffle.
1st prize – Our club as well as affiliated volunteers has diligently searched and was able to track down the history of PA Toy Run through our t-shirts. Big enough for a Queen Sized bed/mattress, this quilt displays historic t-shirts sown into chronological order, displayed on a background of fabric featuring motorcycle tire tracks.
2nd Prize – Hand made smaller quilts with a gift basket of goodies – Koozies, etched wine glasses featuring the tell tale Toy Run wings and “For the Kids” Logo, handmade limited edition cutting boards courtesy of Linda at Wehl Built Concepts (please look her up via her facebook page – she does amazing work) , gift certificates/cards, thermal to go cups and many more desired Toy Run items.
