January 4, 2012

Four days into the new year.  How time flies when you are having fun = not.  Today has (not yet) dawned rainy and blusty on the coast.  This is the type of day that makes ferry travel to the island a hit-an-miss affair.  One of those wintery coastal days where it is much better wrapped up in a blanket, laying on the couch listening to the wind howling, watching the rain blow sideways in between reading a chapter of your favorite book.

Most people hate days like this.  I like them.  They are moody and broody and good for the soul of anyone who ‘scribbles on paper’.  It’s not really a cold day.  Just a day where Mother Nature decides to remind us who is the boss of things out there.

New Project:  A picture a day.

I’ve started a new project – mainly to get back into the swing of writing again.  I’ve been in a mean slump so it’s time to snap out of it.  I came across an idea online.  Take one picture a day of something that strikes your fancy and then write about it.  So you, as my audience, are going to have to suffer through it all.  It might be scarce at the beginning due to the lack of light.  This time of year I do to work in the dark and come home in the dark.  Nothing in between.

At this very moment though, I have to take a mental picture of the clock – as it is time for me to run around like a chicken with my head cut off and get on the road to work.

Ciao. And see you tomorrow on Day 1 of the project.
