When packing for a motorcycle trip, as I have stressed before, you have to pack for quality – not quantity.  I have discovered some little tricks for the road – and instead of reinventing the wheel I will give you this link:

Pay close attention to the mention of bag liners and the most important thing – ziplock bags!  Packing with ziplocks is one of the things that has saved my butt more times than not.  Especially if it’s been raining so much that your luggage gets soaked.  At least all the clothing that has been sealed in the ziplocks is still dry.  As well, ziplocks will keep the dirty laundry away from the clean stuff.  It’s easy. It’s affordable – and once you squeeze all the air out of the bags you can pack 5 shirts into the space of a single shirt!
