Today was a slow start. We stayed around Drumheller today. This was the ‘easy’ day off.
First thing we had a wonderful breakfast at a place called WHIFS on the highway to the Tyrell Museum. It was a great breakfast with a reasonable price = and fantastic service. (Big kudos here for this little place). And the 4 model trains that run the tracks near the ceiling was a great hit with everyone at the restaurant. It was so wonderful to watch the kids watch the trains. What a stroke of genius.
Once we ate, we jumped on the bikes and headed to the Museum. It was fantastic! I could have spent days there wandering through the displays and still see something new. I learned so much – like the last Mamoth disappeared in 600AD! I was so shocked with that info. And discovered that most of the exploration and discoveries have been between the last 30 years. Even the most complete T-Rex skeleton was form under the city of Edmonton by city workers doing sewer repair in 2010.
We stayed there until noon and then met up with the rest of our companions and headed back to the hotel. At the hotel we stocked up on water then hit the road again for a short ride.
We found the town of Wayne (pop 26) and visited the Hoodoos. From thre we headed back to the hotel and ordered pizza.
It was a nice day – slow and relaxed.
Tomorrow we hit the road again.
