I broke down the other day. I could not stop myself. I had to do it. There she was sitting – waiting to be started. So I started here. Then I rolled her down the driveway. And rode her back up the driveway. Then rolled her down again. And rode her back up again. Until I decided that it was time to roll her down, sweep to the right, shift her into gear… and go for a spin.
It was cold. Yes it was. I will not deny that. Lucky for me, the Powers That Be gave us the ingenuity to develop heated clothing. Oh what a fun time it was. And I was so toasty warm.
It felt wonderful. And was good for the soul.

Marg hi-just wanted to say great job on your blogging-been reading your exploits with great interest and hopefully oneday when time and family constraints permit,I will be able to do some long distance riding-got my eye on the Vancouver-San Francisco run. I am a new member of the CMC 056 Vancouver chapter and have only been riding for three short months and so far loving every minute of it-only sorry I didnt start riding years ago-we do have one thing in common and that is our choice of rides-I bought a 2005 V Star 650 Classic as the general consensus was that it is a good starter bike-I am really enjoying it-although I must confess to being a bit envious when the other guys pitch up on their 1500 CC beasts-but my skill levels right now are not up to those bikes-maybe some time down the line -but for now I’m loving my good looking 650-anyway just wanted to say hi and keep up the good work-really absorbing reading and nice to live a little vicariously through you !!
See you in Vancouver maybe sometime

Dear Colin
Great to meet another Vstar rider. Especially the 650. One of the things I learned is that it is not the bike but the rider! My “Lady” has made it from Van Isl to MB and back again in two separate seasons in stellar performance! Anyone that says they don’t have the guts doesn’t know what they are talking about. Affordable. Manuevreable. And damn fine bikes. The last run I made – “Lady” made it from MB to my front door on Vancouver Island in 60 hrs (ferry included). They are great bikes!!
Hope to see you on the road and we can share me the love of the road and the love of our ‘Stars’ one of these days!!! Soooooooooooooooon
